# Introduction

> Guppy: The Execution Layer for Agentic Commerce

Guppy turns *intent* into *reliable execution* across real-world commerce surfaces. Developers send intent + guardrails; Guppy handles monitoring, retries, payments, and proof across APIs and legacy UIs.

This API is designed for:

* **Agent platforms** embedding commerce tools
* **Deal / price-trigger** apps
* **Ticket & reservation** automation
* **SMB replenishment** & ops workflows

## Design Principles

What makes Guppy different:

* **Stateful by default** — intents persist over time.
* **Execution-agnostic** — APIs, UIs, fallbacks.
